Day 1
This non-representational assemblage is comprised of a central hand woven shibori element. The shibori patterning is created with encaustic paint and dyes. Both the warp and the weft are cotton. The ground is a former drop cloth with "droppings" of patinated metallics, pigmented waxes, natural dyes, adobe like clays, and oil paint sticks. This ground is built up more with a thin layer of encaustic wax and oil paint sticks. A hand crafted silver adornment is added.
